If you're on Samsung then you're lucky to have inbuilt S-Finder which is great spotlight searching app. S-Finder searches not only apps or files stored on device but also has deep search feature to search things within apps. For example,if you have Merriam Webster dictionary,Dorland Medical dictionary , pdf documents , etc and when you type APOPTOSIS in Search Bar then it'll show APOSTOSIS RESULT from Merriam Webster and Dorland offline dictionaries (that means you don't need to open dictionary like app to type for meaning ).it'll also search for APOSTOSIS word in all PDF,doc,docx , xml,etc. type of files and also within contacts if person with such name exists .
